Why The Three Forms of Unity?

We are a confessional church, which means that we use confessions as secondary standards for our beliefs. Our primary standard is the Word of God, the Bible. Our secondary standards are the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dort. Historically, Reformed churches have combined these and referred to them as the Three Forms of Unity.
